Announcing the launch of SaaSBOOMi BuildX

With over 1000 SaaS startups, the Indian SaaS startup ecosystem is just getting started. And with new ideas and startups bubbling up, young founders and their teams are in need of mentorship on key areas within product and engineering.

We are pleased to announce the launch of BuildX, an initiative by SaaSBOOMi to build a community of industry veterans in product and technology who can mentor young startups in their growth phases to build scalable products.

Why are we doing this?

Founding team members at startups constantly experiment with new ideas and more often than not, get their hands burnt doing a task for which someone else has already cracked the code. The BuildX mentorship sessions will give these young startups a chance to learn from industry veterans who have been there and done that.

The biggest constraints of mentorship sessions are usually the limited time and group sessions that hold back mentees. BuildX is a first-of-its-kind program to allow all product and engineering practitioners in need of 1:1 guidance to connect with mentors and get guidance on specific challenges they are facing in product and engineering.

Who can be a mentee?

Founding or leadership team members of a SaaS startup who need guidance on specific areas like product, engineering, building scalable systems from scratch, customer success, and hiring.

What is the format?

The mentorship sessions will happen on alternate weekends, starting 19th & 20th February and the slots will be pre-published with mentor details. The sessions will be 30-minutes long and mentees need to book from the available slots providing their queries/agenda.

Who will be the mentors?

Product and technology veterans who have built and scaled products, verticals, and organizations will be the mentors for BuildX mentorship sessions.

While different mentors will be joining us for BuildX sessions, for the very first sessions on 19th & 20th February, we are excited to announce Manisha Raisinghani and Chaitanya Chokkareddy as BuildX mentors.

Manisha, a Forbes Trailblazer is cofounder of LogiNext, a logistics management software and an angel investor. Some of the startups she has invested in include Awign, Maven, Fountain9, Array.vc, Together, Raise, Kindlife, Leap.club, and Inc42. An alumnus of Carnegie Mellon University, Manisha has deep operational experience in implementing consumer-grade enterprise SaaS products globally.

Sample questions/ areas you can ask the mentor: Cloud architecture, Scaling from 0 to 1 to 10, SaaS org chart, product, engineering, design, customer success, and leadership hiring, and answers to ‘what to do’ and most importantly ‘what not to do’.

Chaitanya is the Chief Innovation Officer at Ozonetel Communications, a cloud-based communication solutions. A University of Florida CS alumnus, he is a SaaS veteran with 15+ years of experience. At Ozonetel, he was responsible for architecting India’s first cloud telephony platform KooKoo and also designed the communication framework for cloud-based call centres.

Sample questions you can ask the mentor: MongoDB vs regular database, when will Redis help, does it help to go with Go, end-to-end questions on the full stack to help mentees make the right choice, incorporating AI into products, AI tools and deploying models, building features that can help in marketing, incorporate blockchain into the product.
