Unyielding Benevolence

Day in, day out

The sun confesses its love day in, day out —
shining upon our lives,
no strings attached or expectation of return —
no dream of adoration,
no hope of exaltation —
from the oblivious lot,
absorbing the fullness of its warmth,
with little regard for unyielding benevolence
that wraps around our cold spirits day in, day out.
