Dear Beach

In response to Mini Mailer’s monthly prompt — Take Us to Your Favourite Place

Dear beach,

I see you,
You see me.
We kiss each other,
When the wave touches my feet.

You entice me,
With your salty air.
I can feel you hugging me,
When the wind sways my hair.

And then we have a conversation or two.
You tell me to breathe,
When I keep rambling away my truth.

And when I breathe,
My feet sink.
The coolness of the sand,
Reminds me to focus on the present.

And then I listen,
To the music of your waves.
Telling me everything will be okay,
If I just wait.

You are my favourite place,
Sorry, I don’t visit you often.
But know, I think of you,
When my heart needs a best friend.

It was heart warming to visit my favourite place and then get an opportunity to write about it. :)
