Living in the Spirit

Christ for Youth International

Imagine you were a part of an army with a commander who never loses a battle, would you ever go to the battlefield with the fear of losing the battle before you?

As Christians, our commander is Jesus Christ, who overcame everything when He walked the earth — even death on the cross. Every obstacle thrown before us as believers is a battle. However, by virtue of His death on the cross and resurrection, Jesus has already won the battle.

Romans 8:6 tells us that, as believers, we must choose where we set our minds every day. Our relationship with Christ requires us to daily surrender to Him. Every day, we have a decision to make; either to listen to the voice of God or to listen to the voice of the enemy. We must wake up with the intention of saying “Yes” to Jesus daily.

Totally surrendering everything to God means rising against every scheme and every plan of the enemy to derail you in your life.

Victory in the Christian walk is not automatic. God offers you His power to live victoriously, but you must also do your part and make choices in order to appropriate that power.
