AI Design Thinking Template

Based on our interview and data analysis experience, I consider that it is good to have the AI Design Thinking template to guide our problem-solving approach through different steps.

First, the step order and the attached explanations are very useful to make us think about the value of our project. Second, they present a clear design process, by which we are able to strengthen our focus at different steps. For example, the “AI opportunity” of the fourth section “Jobs to be done” prompt our new thoughts of AI features. It make us think more deeply and comprehensively about which steps should we apply AI technique to. The “Big idea vignettes” is more like a team brainstorming. It is a step facilitating our ideation process, resulting in practical ideas and solutions without any intervention. However, I think the content of “AI user profile” is way too detailed. Some information seems irrelevant to our project.

The model of Human-to-Machine Communication is a good tool for us to think about our AI project. For example, based on the model, we can consider which elements our AI project should have, how we can maximize our design outputs. On the other hand, I think it would be better if more practical examples are introduced.
