Three Stages in the Development of Artificial Intelligence

Image from freepik.com

There are approximately three stages of AI development. The first is logical thinking. The second is imagination and the last is a combination of logical thinking and imagination.

Since the computer is based on logical operations, it is easy for AI to develop logical thinking. The next step is to generate a meaningful imagination. For example, if we give the AI a text, it can produce a short film that illustrates the idea or concept of the text. Conversely, if we present the AI with a short film, it should be able to describe what is happening in the film. The final step is to combine logical thinking and imagination when AI can connect knowledge to facts in a logical and imaginative way.

Logical thinking combined with imagination is the key to making new discoveries and solving new problems. If AI can always come up with a better solution than us, we will no longer need to evolve intelligently. The future may well be the coexistence of organic and artificial intelligence.
